VERI*FACTU in Spain

This guide helps you easily understand what VERI*FACTU is, who it applies to, when it comes into effect, and why integrating it into your order management platform matters.

WHAT IS VERI*FACTU?

The VERI*FACTU system (Verifiable Invoicing System) is the regulatory framework for "Invoicing Software Systems" (SIF) that, according to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) and Royal Decree 1007/2023, must send invoice records. Its goal is to ensure that invoices are tamper-proof, traceable, and verifiable by the tax authorities.
Note that VERI*FACTU is not electronic invoicing, which will take effect in Spain at a later date.

In short, your company has two obligations:
1. Your invoicing system must generate each invoice (and any correction or cancellation) in a way that guarantees integrity, immutability, and traceability.
2. Each invoice must include a QR code and the phrase "verifiable on the AEAT electronic site."

WHO DOES IT APPLY TO?

If you have a fashion or design brand registered in Spain and you sell to professionals, you are directly concerned by the obligation to implement VERI*FACTU. More generally, in Spain, the obligation applies to:

All companies (legal entities) and self-employed workers in Spain who issue invoices using software or IT systems and are not yet under the SII regime (Immediate Supply of Information).

EFFECTIVE DATES

For companies and legal entities, the deadline for full compliance is January 1, 2026.
For self-employed workers, the deadline is July 1, 2026.

1. First, you need to subscribe to an Advanced or Premium plan. The invoicing feature is also available for Starter plans, but at an additional cost.
2. Once your showroom is open, your account manager will help you configure VERI*FACTU. You'll just need to fill out a simple form with your company's legal details so that the connection to your tax account can be set up.

If you are already on OrderWizz:
1. Contact your account manager, who will schedule a meeting with you to help set up VERI*FACTU. You'll first fill out a simple form with your company's legal information to establish the connection with your tax account.
2. From that moment, you'll be able to issue invoices fully compliant with Spanish legislation. When you confirm the creation of an invoice, a request will be instantly and automatically sent to the AEAT, which will return a QR code to your OrderWizz account that will be added to the invoice.
